Yacht charter Caribbean pricing peaks in winter, December through April, when the Med sleeps and the trade winds behave. Christmas and New Year weeks are the most expensive of the year and vanish first.
The Caribbean's pricing model is friendlier. Most crewed charters quote all-inclusive, with meals, drinks, and water sports inside the headline rate. No VAT. Local costs like the Bahamas 14% charter tax or BVI cruising permits are small and disclosed up front.
All-inclusive usually covers the chef, standard open bar, water toys, and fuel for normal cruising. What it rarely covers: premium champagne, scuba certification dives, dockage at marinas in St. Barths, and meals ashore. Read the inclusions list, not the headline.
Shoulder value is real. Late April into June brings warm water, fewer boats, and rates 10-20% below winter peak. Hurricane season, roughly June to November, is cheapest but carries weather risk and thinner availability.
YachtMatch tracks winter and shoulder rates across 1,328 yachts and sends free price-drop alerts. Watch a Caribbean boat and pounce when the rate moves.
Winter for the weather, spring for the value. Pick your trade.
