A wedding invitation has more ways to go wrong than a birthday one, so it makes the better worked example. The finished card on this page was built in the free Yacht Party Invite Maker for a couple who exist only for this post: Elena and Marcus, hosted by the Vasquez and Reid families, marrying on Saturday, June 12, 2027, aboard the Meridian Star out of Bahia Mar Yachting Center, Fort Lauderdale. Boarding at 3:30 PM, ceremony at 4 PM sharp, soft-soled shoes on deck, back at the dock by 9 PM, RSVP to Elena by May 15. Sunset Gold, vertical, exported as a PNG at exactly 1080 by 1920, the actual file the maker downloaded while this page was being put together.
The build: eight fields, four real decisions
The form asks for eight lines, and four of them are decisions, not decoration. The boarding time is the one guests will plan around, so it gets its own field, separate from the date. The marina takes its full name, because the dock is not an address. The notes line is where a boat invitation earns its keep: the ceremony time, the footwear rule and the return time all live there. And the RSVP line names a person with a deadline, because the captain needs a headcount, not a rough sense of enthusiasm.
Style and shape are the easy part. Sunset Gold suits a ceremony timed for late afternoon light. Classic Navy reads better for an evening departure, and your own photo of the actual boat works as the background under a wash of the style colour. Vertical fits the family message thread, which is where this card is going; export the square version if the announcement is a post. Editing and previews are always free, two exports a day are free on a connection, and after that an email unlocks unlimited exports for the rest of the day. Your details never leave the device. First time in the maker? The short explainer walks the four steps before you start.

Wording: what a boat wedding invitation has to say
Most wedding wording guides assume a hall. A boat changes four things, and the sample card handles each of them in a single line:
- Boarding before ceremony. Print both times, boarding first. A guest who arrives at 4 PM for a 4 PM ceremony watches the boat leave; a guest who boards at 3:30 does not.
- The boat and the marina, named. Aboard the Meridian Star, Bahia Mar Yachting Center can be found on a map. The marina cannot.
- The return time. Guests book sitters, rides and flights home around the hour the boat comes back. Put 9 PM on the card, not in a follow-up message.
- Footwear, said kindly. Decks and stiletto heels do not mix, and soft-soled shoes protect the teak. One short line on the invitation saves a dozen awkward conversations at the dock.
None of this wording comes from the tool. The maker has no preset text and no wording library; the words are yours, typed once, and the card makes them look printed. That is the honest division of labour, and it is why the wording deserves ten careful minutes: it is the one part of a yacht wedding invitation nobody can automate for you.
What the boat behind the invitation actually costs
The card above invites people to an afternoon. Some couples take the boat for the week instead, so here is the recorded price picture for that version, from this site's own database of 1,328 crewed charter yachts, recorded on October 7, 2026. Two limits first, because they shape everything after them. The database records overnight sleeping capacity, not how many guests a yacht can host on deck for a ceremony, and no yacht in it is listed as a wedding venue. Day charters are not in it at all. What it can price honestly is the wedding week, where the party sleeps aboard and the boat is the venue for seven days.
That week is an intimate format by construction. The median recorded yacht sleeps 10. Of the 1,328 yachts, 1,145 sleep 8 or more, 524 sleep 12 or more, and only 42 sleep 20 or more. For the 1,040 yachts sleeping 8 to 12 with a recorded low-season rate, the median brochure rate is $87,500 a week. Treat that median carefully, because it hides two markets. Catamarans record a median low-season rate of $4,655 a week and sailing yachts $2,815, much of it from fleet tables whose rates are labeled bareboat for boats also sold crewed, while motor yachts record a median of $139,000. The boat in a wedding week can cost less than a reception hall or more than a house, depending on which end of the database you are reading.
Brochure rates are the starting number, not the bill. They typically exclude the APA, 25 to 35 percent of the base rate for fuel, food and dockage, VAT of 10 to 22 percent in much of the Mediterranean, and a crew gratuity of 15 to 20 percent. Caribbean rates are more often all-inclusive, so check each listing. The geography splits the same way the example does: 445 of the recorded yachts list the Caribbean among their cruising areas, against 318 listing the Mediterranean. Our crewed charter cost breakdown follows every dollar of a week aboard, and the Caribbean winter pricing guide covers the season a Fort Lauderdale wedding sails into.
Four more cards to build while you are in the maker
A wedding is one occasion on a longer list. The same eight fields, restyled, cover the rest of the charter party calendar:
- Engagement party. The announcement and the invitation in one card. Sunset Gold again, and the notes line carries where to park.
- Bachelorette run. Tropical for a daytime island hop, your own photo of the boat as the background, the meeting dock in the marina line.
- Anniversary cruise. Minimal White and a quiet card. The date line does the sentimental work; export the square for the post.
- Corporate outing. Minimal White, no photo, and the notes line carries the one fact colleagues need: which dock gate, or where to park.
The birthday build shows the same maker working through six more invites. When your own occasion is booked, open the Yacht Party Invite Maker and type it in.
About the numbers: counts and medians come from this site's database of 1,328 crewed charter yachts, recorded on October 7, 2026 from public charter listings, and rates are published weekly brochure rates. The couple, the families and the Meridian Star are a worked example created for this post, not a listing.
